Answer is NO.

You can eat it piece by piece…

This is the art and science of “SCHEDULED GOAL SETTING”.

Off late, I’ve been meeting women who wish to improve the quality of their life and hence are setting goals for themselves. But the goals they’ve been setting are not achieved as per the timeline they have decided. This in turn is impacting their self-confidence. They are beating themselves (not literally) that they have failed and that aren’t worth the quality of life they dream for and ultimately giving up on their aspirations.

Root cause of this problem isn’t that the goals are unrealistic and hence, can’t be achieved. problem is that the process of goal setting requires steady progress towards your goals without heavy doses of willpower, effort, or stress.

These women are like you and me who’ve loads of goals, aspirations or a vision that they desire to achieve which gives meaning to their lives and drives them to feel the abundance. But a problem here is that we create deadlines and not schedules. Read that line again…“we create deadlines and not schedules”.

We are always focussed upon the end result and goal but seldom we sit down and breakdown our goals into pieces to be achieved everyday. We often say “I want to earn Rs. 1 lakh in next six months.” But fail to answer “HOW”.

Through my experiences as a life coach, in order to attain your goals you need to put systems and processes in place. You need to use tools which can actually help you in visualising the whole process clearly and lead towards being stress-free.

With simple tool of Gantt chart, you can actually breakdown your goals and achieve them in a simple way without feeling the heat of stress and anxiety. “HOW” – Follow the following steps:

  1. Breakdown the Goal into small pieces
  2. Determine the progression of these activities, like which is the starting activity, subsequent activities, simultaneous activities, activities which will start only if certain activities are over, your last activity…
  3. Take each activity and divide them in 3 steps daily in order to attain them.

That might a significant shift in how we move ahead with our goals but is critical transformational mind-shift process to attain SUCCESS. If you follow this I can guarantee you that you’ll be able to achieve much more with little effort.
